Gan Siow Huang on enhanced Silver Support Scheme

The Government has introduced a new Silver Support payout tier for seniors with higher household monthly income per person. Seniors who experience an improvement in circumstances can now continue to receive Silver Support payouts of a reduced quantum, said Minister of State for Manpower Gan Siow Huang in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 25) in reply to an MP's questions. About S$600 million will be disbursed this year to almost 250,000 seniors, nearly double the S$330 million paid out to 150,000 seniors last year.
