Desmond Tan on Singapore's food security, local food production

Local food production is crucial to strengthening Singapore's resilience in food supply, Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Desmond Tan said in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He added that authorities had launched the Singapore Food Story campaign to raise consumer support for local produce, and that later this year, a "Clean and Green" standard for urban farms would be launched. Although the local farms will primarily serve the local market, there will be support to help farmers export their produce.
