It may be timely for the Ministry of Education (MOE) to review the Primary 1 registration framework so that more children can get a place in the schools near their homes, said MP Patrick Tay. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3), he said despite efforts by MOE to preserve open access for parents with no prior connections to the primary school of their choice, some residents could not get a place in a nearby school as the school had been over-subscribed.
