Young people may face stresses at home and in school life, as well as from issues related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, said MP Darryl David in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3). He called for more pastoral counselling by trained counsellors and psychologists, even in primary schools. Mr David also suggested that students be offered career counselling earlier - during the transition from secondary school to junior college or polytechnic - and ideally, by industry professionals. He asked if every school could have a dedicated team of trained professional career counsellors.
