Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 4: Ang Wei Neng on obstacles to mass adoption of electric vehicles

While much has been done to drive the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), there are several practical concerns which have to be addressed, said MP Ang Wei Neng. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3), he raised the issue of costs. He asked if the authorities would consider waiving all statutory charges, including the import duty for EVs. Another concern is the availability of charging facilities. He said Singapore needs improved public infrastructure to support the mass adoption of EVs.
