Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 3: Sharael Taha on transformation for remote working

03:23 Min
With the rise of remote working, Singapore must keep its workforce competitive and relevant even to an international market, said MP Sharael Taha. He suggested that a platform be created for Singapore’s remote professional services to be procured globally. Mr Sharael also called for the promotion and adoption of “softer skills” for remote working, such as managers being able to assess output rather than hours worked, and employees having the discipline to ensure that productivity is not compromised. He spoke in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2).
