Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 3: Pritam Singh on work injury compensation coverage for all workers

The number of platform workers and gig workers has been rising, especially during the economic crisis caused by COVID-19. This brings to the fore the lack of important worker protections for them, said Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2). He asked about the number of such workers with no medical coverage, especially in the lower-income bracket, and whether there are plans to extend statutory protections to them.
