Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 3: Liang Eng Hwa on nurturing industry giants

Large local enterprises are an important engine of Singapore’s growth, said MP Liang Eng Hwa in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2). He asked for an update on these transformation efforts and whether they are being sped up to achieve size and scale. Mr Liang also wanted to know if the COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a setback to Singapore’s momentum on internationalisation. He asked how local firms can seize opportunities in reconfigured global supply chains due to COVID-19.
