Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 3: Leon Perera on fixed-term and non-fixed term work passes for foreigners

Have a mix of fixed-term and non-fixed term work passes for foreigners to attract investment in next-generation industries and stave off job displacements. MP Leon Perera, who renewed this call in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2), said such a mix could be offered to investors for specific projects, especially in highly desirable future-ready industries where Singapore has competitive advantages. He said the mix could be tweaked, depending on the degree of international competition for that investment.
