Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 3: Dennis Tan on education credential assessment

In light of the recent news on work pass holders with forged qualifications, MP Dennis Tan in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2) said there are areas of work pass requirements that need further review. The system to check the authenticity of qualifications has to be improved to improve Singaporeans' sentiments towards foreign professionals, managers, executives and technicians working in Singapore, he said. He proposed that the Ministry of Manpower consider mandatory educational credential assessment for work pass applicants of diploma level and above.
