02:47 Min
How effective have professional conversion programmes (PCPs) been in enabling professionals, managers and executives (PME) jobseekers to secure jobs, and how many have ended up in higher-value jobs or new fields, asked NMP Abdul Samad Abdul Wahab in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 2). He wanted to know how PCPs can be better marketed to self-employed workers to help them join the permanent workforce. Mr Abdul Samad also asked how many employees have benefited from the Capability Transfer Programme, meant to facilitate the transfer of skills from foreign specialists to locals.
