Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Tan Wu Meng on digitalisation of services for less literate and less IT-savvy

Even with the best of policy intentions, it can be "regressive" when digitalisation of services makes it harder for the less well-off, less literate and less IT-savvy to go online. MP Tan Wu Meng said this in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1), as he recounted how some frustrated residents struggled with the online services of Government agencies. "Let us continue trying better to do better to improve," he said.
