Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Leong Mun Wai on improving police probes

During the debate on the Parti Liyani case, Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam had promised some improvements to the police investigation process, said NCMP Leong Mun Wai in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He wanted to know what is being done to speed up the implementation of the video recording system for police interviews of accused persons and whether the pool of interpreters would be increased. Turning to the Piang Ngaih Don case, he asked: "How is the police doing more to protect the vulnerable before the worst happens?"
