Legislative “levers” may be needed to allow Singapore to better respond to hostile information campaigns, as part of efforts to guard against foreign interference in the country’s politics, Second Minister for Home Affairs Josephine Teo told Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). Measures to guard against foreign subversion of politically significant individuals and entities also need to be considered, said Mrs Teo, adding that Singapore is studying how other countries approach this growing and increasingly sophisticated threat.
