Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Joan Pereira on Singapore’s ties with Africa and Indonesia

Sub-Saharan Africa offers a growing market with lots of potential due to its young population, said MP Joan Pereira, and she wanted to know how Singapore companies are tapping this. She asked for details of investment figures and market share, as well as how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is supporting Singaporeans working and doing business in Africa, especially in a COVID-19 environment. In Parliament on Monday (Mar 1), Ms Pereira also asked what initiatives and projects Singapore is undertaking with Indonesia to keep their relationship strong amid the pandemic.
