Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Gerald Giam on MINDEF's compensation

Fair compensation for injuries sustained by Singapore's servicemen would give the assurance for all servicemen to give their best during training and operations, MP Gerald Giam pointed out in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He asked if the S$150,000 Group Term Life and Group Personal Accident insurance covered operationally ready national serviceman, and how the coverage amounts were derived. He also asked if there was room to increase the coverage in the event of death or total permanent disability.
