Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Gan Thiam Poh on helping local companies venture into new markets

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many of Singapore's established markets and so it is timely to consider greater diversification, said MP Gan Thiam Poh in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He cited emerging economies in central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America that are developing strongly with young populations. He asked how the Government is supporting local companies that want to explore opportunities in these markets.
