Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Desmond Choo on consular assistance for overseas Singaporeans

02:04 Min
Around 200,000 Singaporeans are living abroad and COVID-19 has placed some of them in a precarious state, especially in countries where the virus is less well-contained, said MP Desmond Choo in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He asked how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has provided consular assistance to Singaporeans abroad during the pandemic. Turning to the changing world order, he wanted to know how MFA could better share complex foreign policies regularly so that citizens could better understand Singapore's bilateral and multilateral initiatives.
