Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 1: Vivian Balakrishnan on Smart Nation Initiative for real-world problems

COVID-19 has accelerated the need and opportunities arising from the digital revolution, said Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation Initiative Vivian Balakrishnan. Speaking in Parliament on Friday (Feb 26), he said the Smart Nation Initiative has put Singapore in a good position to "seize the moment" and to prove that it can solve real-world problems quickly. It has also shown that the country and its people can "differentiate ourselves" in a post-COVID world, he said.
