Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 1: Dennis Tan on protecting elderly from scams in contactless payments

Senior citizens are more vulnerable to scams amid the switch to contactless payments. MP Dennis Tan raised this concern in Parliament on Friday (Feb 26). He suggested a chip-and-PIN debit card or PIN-only NETS-enabled ATM bank card for domestic payments for senior citizens. He said these will provide an added layer of defence against fraud or scams.
