Budget 2021 debate: Mohd Fahmi Aliman on caring for lower-wage workers and migrant workers

"Emerging Stronger Together" means being aware of those with additional challenges, such as lower-wage essential workers and foreign workers, said MP Mohd Fahmi Aliman. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 24), he said the National Trades Union Congress will continue to uplift lower-wage essential workers through the progressive wage models (PWMs). He urged all stakeholders to take a hard look at the value of their jobs and increase their PWM wages. He also asked the Government to consider a form of transitional support to help service buyers in the interim as wages are adjusted.
