In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 24), NCMP Hazel Poa sought transparency on the national reserves so that Singaporeans can better understand the rationale for decisions like the need to raise GST. She also suggested a cost-benefit analysis of each COVID-19 support scheme put in place over the past year, saying this would improve future allocation of resources, such as whether more transfers should go to companies or to families and individuals. Ms Poa said the Progress Singapore Party would also like the Government to set a target for the wage component to form at least half of GDP.
