Budget 2021 debate: Ang Wei Neng on working from home beyond pandemic to ease commuting load

13:16 Min
MP Ang Wei Neng said he was "not a fan" of working from home, as he did not think it would be as productive. That was before the COVID-19 pandemic. He is now pushing for work-from-home arrangements beyond the pandemic, having seen how they have eased the commuting load during peak hours. The roads, amenities and public transport were not as crowded, he said in Parliament on Friday (Feb 26). He said the pandemic offers a chance to reshape public transport into one that is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. He urged the Civil Service to set the pace.
