Alvin Tan on hosting virus-secure World Economic Forum in August

Singapore is proceeding with the necessary preparations to host the World Economic Forum in August 2021, while monitoring the COVID-19 situation at home and globally to ensure a virus-secure event. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan gave this assurance in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 25), in reply to an MP's questions. He said Singapore is "building muscle" to manage and host events. It is calibrating its measures to host events safely for global attendees while protecting the local community, he said.
