6,753 flats launched for sale, including new units in Tengah, Woodlands, Kallang-Whampoa
SINGAPORE —The Housing and Development Board (HDB) launched 6,753 flats for sale on Wednesday (May 22) under its Build-to-Order (BTO) and Sale of Balance Flat (SBF) exercise.
Among the flats on offer are 3,485 BTO units spread across four projects, three in the non-mature towns of Tengah and Woodlands and another in the mature town of Kallang-Whampoa.
Balloting time for BTO applicants will be halved, said HDB. It will now take only three weeks instead of six.
The BTO flats will cost (excluding grants) as low as S$86,000 for 2-room Flexi units, to S$415,000 and above for 5-room units across the various estates.
Eligible first-time applicants can enjoy up to S$80,000 in housing grants, comprising the Additional CPF Housing Grant and the Special CPF Housing Grant, both up to S$40,000 each.
SALE OF BALANCE FLATS
Balance units across various estates are also on sale, the majority of which are reserved for first timer families, said the HDB.
About 28 per cent of the balance flats offered have been completed while the rest are still under construction, it added.
Homebuyers who are interested in balance units in non-mature estates can expect to fork out (excluding grants) about S$83,000 for a 2-room Flexi and S$248,000 for a 5-room flat.
In comparison, those going for mature estates can expect to pay from S$138,000 for a 2-room Flexi to S$357,000 for a 5-room flat, excluding grants.
Applications for flats under May’s BTO and SBF exercise can be submitted via the HDB InfoWEB from May 22-28.
BTO PROJECTS TO BE ANNOUNCED EARLIER
HDB also said that it will announce upcoming BTO projects six months in advance to help buyers plan ahead.
The next BTO launch will be in August, with about 3,300 flats in Punggol and Tampines on offer.
Another launch of about 4,500 flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah will be held in November. The flats in two Tengah projects will also have a shorter waiting time of about two to three years instead of the typical three to four years.
A Re-Offer of Balance Flats (ROF) exercise will be held in August, while another SBF exercise will be held in November.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story said that a re-offer of balance flats exercise will be held in August and November. This is incorrect. The re-offer of balance flats will be held in August, while another sale of balance flats exercise will be held in November. We are sorry for the error.
