Local actress Sheila Sim has given birth to her first child, a baby girl named Layla Woo, on Tuesday (Sep 22).
According to a statement sent to local media, Layla arrived at around 11am weighing 2.86 kilograms.
The 36-year-old first-time mum also shared the good news on Instagram, where she wrote: "It's so surreal to hold you in my arms today, you little angel. Your first cry is the best sound I've ever heard in my life. It touched my heart like nothing else ever would.”
She added: “I love you. I loved you before we met. And I'll love you for the rest of my life. Thank you for choosing us. You're the best thing that happened to me.”

In an interview with CNA Lifestyle for podcast series House Party For 2 earlier this month, Sim said she was going to try to allow her daughter “to be whatever she wants to be” and that means keeping her mouth shut even if it’s something she doesn’t really agree with.
Sim announced her pregnancy on Apr 27 after initially keeping mum about it, even while filming the dialect drama, How Are You.
Sim told CNA Lifestyle in an earlier interview that she didn’t reveal her pregnancy news because she didn’t want her fellow cast members to feel any pressure around her, especially Romeo Tan, as they had to film some physical interactions for the show.
Congratulations to the new mum!
